Adult Sailing Programs

The Shrewsbury River provides the perfect venue to learn how to sail, whether you are a beginner, getting back into sailing or looking to take your skills to the next level.

SSYC has partnered with US Sailing to provide an educational program designed to help you master 14 skills. You can opt to have these skills tracked and certified by an instructor in US Sailing's Little Red Book. New to 2027 will be an Intermediate level class on Thursday evenings. This class is designed to continue to refine your skills, with the goal of participating in SSYC's casual Thursday evening race series by the last class.

SSYC features a variety of club-owned boats including Flying Scots, Sunfish, Lasers and more. We offer an 8-week program from early June through late July. Class options include Tuesday or Wednesday evenings, from 6-9 PM and Saturday mornings from 10 AM - 1 PM and an Intermediate Only class on Thursdays from 6-9 PM.
